 Integrated Document Technologies Achieves Authorized Kofax Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Status
IDT is pleased to announce it has achieved the status of an authorized Kofax Independent Software Vendor (ISV). As an ISV, IDT provides some of the best selling, high performance, imaging applications available today.
Kofax defines an ISV as "any company that develops and markets software products that are built upon and interface to the Kofax Image Processing Platform (KIPP®) family of products." An ISV product is considered a self–contained application or utility, meaning the product can be configured, installed, customized and used without the direct assistance of the ISV. IDT has developed and marketed two such software products that are built upon and interface to the Kofax ImageControls component toolkits and Adrenaline™ image processing accelerators: MagnumSCAN™ and MagnumSCAN Plus™. These "shrink–wrapped" software packages are easy to use pipelines for electronic production capture.
Kofax ImageControls is a set of ActiveX controls for quickly adding production scanning, advanced image processing, rapid viewing and network image printing to 32–bit Windows® applications. With ImageControls component toolkits, developers can create applications that speed the document indexing process, increase OCR accuracy and reliability, and decrease overall storage costs. IDT’s MagnumSCAN is a 32–bit batch scanning application that allows for any supported scanner in the ImageControls Library, including the new Kodak 2500, 3510 and 3590C, to scan images into Optika FilePower® or eMedia™.
Adrenaline is a family of hardware accelerators and software engines that perform image clean up, bar code recognition, forms processing and auto–rotation at scan time. With the ability to keep up with even the fastest scanners, the hardware accelerators dramatically improve image quality and OCR accuracy and reduce file size. To achieve its speed and throughput, MagnumSCAN utilizes Kofax Adrenaline image processing accelerators. With an icon–based toolbar, context sensitive help menus and on–line tool tips, MagnumSCAN is designed for speed, accuracy and ease of use! Operating scanners at their rated speed, MagnumSCAN enables optimum scanner throughput and maximum operator productivity.
Storing images as Optika® batches, MagnumSCAN permits FilePower users to continue using the Optika FPmulti™ index module and minimize training requirements. To scan batches for eMedia, images can be indexed directly from MagnumSCAN and then released to eMedia Filer for archiving purposes.
To allow for quick, easy and accurate identification of poor images, IDT created the MagnumSCAN Quality Control (QC) module, which includes a complete set of icon-based tools available at the click of a mouse.
MagnumSCAN Plus from IDT has all of the same features as MagnumSCAN, yet it adds functionality by allowing for batches to be directly scanned into Optika PowerFlow™ without having to first index the batches through FPmulti. When it is impossible or impractical to index documents at the beginning of a process, MagnumSCAN Plus provides the capability to capture and input images automatically into a workflow process. Used in conjunction with the MagnumLIVE BATCH™ add-on from IDT, MagnumSCAN Plus is able to routinely perform workflow operations such as creating packages and starting them into a process.
