Quillix Web Information Capture Software

Multimedia Tour of Quillix 3.0

In a joint development effort between Integrated Document Technologies, Inc. (IDT) and Prevalent Software, Inc., IDT is pleased to introduce Quillix™, the first true enterprise distributed capture system built for the Internet.

Quillix is designed to provide a low-cost capture solution using desktop scanners and XML-based Internet forms totally within the Web browser interface. Quillix can capture documents in the browser using any TWAIN compliant desktop scanner or TWAIN input device, and there is no need to run an installation program since Quillix runs right in the Web browser.

Now available -Quillix Fax automatically captures faxed documents received by the Captaris server and sends them via the Internet to the Quillix Server for release to any back-end enterprise system for archiving or further processing.

Robust Server Architecture
Quillix employs a robust and open Web Server architecture for the release of scanned batches and information to a wide variety of eCommerce, workflow and document imaging systems. In keeping with our focus on automation, the Quillix Web Server is designed to automate the input of documents and information to back-end systems using bar codes, and custom components developed using Microsoft® COM. In addition, the Quillix server has an extensible architecture that allows release components to be easily built for systems that Quillix does not currently support.

XML-based Indexing and Data Capture
The emerging XML standard for self-describing documents on the Internet provides an ideal platform for Quillix to capture data from the browser and propagate information to other systems. As such, the integrated indexing and data capture component of Quillix is based on XML. However, no knowledge of XML is required to use or setup Quillix because the XML technology is embedded. Quillix is as easy to use as browsing the Internet.

Automated Image Cleanup & Recognition
Quillix ADP (Automated Document Processing) uses image recognition technology to automatically recognize and extract indexing information from documents entering the capture workflow from any of the Quillix input sources. Quillix ADP also provides an integrated form designer with which administrators can set up any number of forms with different field and character recognition zones.

Recognition features include: forms recognition and processing, auto data extraction, high-speed barcode recognition, OCR, ICR and OMR

Image cleanup processing provides: improved image quality, more efficient processing, better recognition rates

Validation Features include: Web browser-based verification, built-in validation mode, zoom-to-zone

Introducing Quillix PDF
Automatically Convert Images into PDFs
Quillix PDF is a Quillix Server eXtension (QSX) module that automatically converts image files (JPEG or TIFF) into Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) files. As an independent QSX module, Quillix PDF scales easily and may be called upon by the Quillix Server to perform PDF conversion on unindexed batches and individual documents at any point in the Quillix Capture Workflow.
